Ben Nathan works across photography, painting and drawing documenting urban infrastructure and environmental pollution. His practice reveals overlooked aspects of the city and the people who sustain it. Recent projects have focused on polluted waterways, and industrial sites, incorporating water testing into his artist process.
In 2020, he established Pinhole London, a community arts organisation using camera obscuras and pinhole photography.
In 2017, he co-founded Baden Projekt, a series of immersive film installations exploring the changing state of water.
Ben studied at Slade School of Fine Art (2008) and The Prince's Drawing School (2009). Recent exhibitions include The Brook, Bruce Castle Museum (2026); Remains, The Valley Room, London (2024); Nouveau Quartier, Béziers, France (2018); Tales from the Towpath, London (2023); ARTBAT FEST 9, Almaty, Kazakhstan (2018). Awards and residencies include Arts Council England's Developing Your Creative Practice (2025), AiR Studio residency, London (2024) and ZK/U residency, Berlin (2017-18).
